Not today.

I got a call at 3:45 in the morning saying that my flight from Detroit to Chicago had been canceled, then some more calls later in the morning saying that the flight from Chicago to Salt Lake was also canceled.
Needless to say, I'm still here at Pat the Bunny's house.

I did finally fall back to sleep after changing my flights to Saturday, and now I get to go pull all of the luggage back out of the car and attempt to find the things we'll need for the next couple of days.
While there are definitely some down sides to these changes (my new 4 hour layover at Midway, an even earlier take-off time, and just the hassle of moving the luggage around), I'm trying the think positively.

At least the flights were canceled before I woke the kids and we all got to the airport. And I'm thankful that our first flight was canceled early, so we didn't travel to Chicago only to get stuck there. Oh, and the early call made it possible for me to reschedule for Saturday's flight, which is now sold out.

Alex was a little miffed this morning. "Mama you said that you were going to wake me up in the middle of the night, but it's already light out!"
But it was nothing that a promise to watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer for the 147th time couldn't take care of.
At least I think that's what happened, I just shooed her out of my room because PtB was already downstairs with the little guy.
You know, the one who had woken at 1am and 4:15am crying big tears because his "sock few opp mama." Then he was up for good at 7:00 when his "udder sock few opp."

I never knew it would be so traumatic to lose a sock in your sleep. He usually wears footie jammies, but I'd dressed him in his clothes to make this morning easier. Lesson learned.

For all that I make fun of that Bunny, she's darn handy when it comes to me getting to sleep in. Thanks for taking them off my hands this morning Grandma! I feel well-rested despite my trips out of bed at 1am, 3:45am, 4:15am, 6:50am, 7:00am and at 7:10am when I yelled to Alex to just get out of bed by herself because I hadn't the energy to go get her up.

And now I apologize to those of you who were hoping that my travel-related posts were coming to an end. Looks like you're stuck for a couple more days too.

Poor Erin. And people wonder why I don't like snow. See! It sucks! There is nothing good about it. Nothing.

I feel for you. When PSCing back from England, the rotator was delayed several days. Each day we'd repack (M & M were 20 & 4 months) and head over to the airport to wait. Not fun trying to squeeze out and back in what was packed up so nicely!!!!! Let's hope Saturday's flight is either a success or you get another early call before you start the journey!
