Things I Love

When writing yesterday about the whole turd-in-the-tub incident, it really got me thinking about how much I will miss my bathroom when we leave here.

Well, not the poop part.
 That I could do without.
But the bathroom. She's nice.

And that got me thinking that I've enjoyed reading many a "Favorite Things" blog but have never written one of those posts myself.

So today I shall correct that.

Introducing my favorite things, in no particular order:

1) My minivan's Remote Start. I like it. A lot.
Nothing better than hopping into your car on a cold day and having it all toasty warm.
That being said, I scared the crap out of some lady the other day who was standing next to my van.
I had started it and opened the sliding door before I walked around the corner, and she had the weirdest look on her face as if she were in the middle of the Rise of the Machines.

2) My GHD. I know it's only a flat-iron, but it's just so good at what it does. It deserves a promotion and a pay raise.

3) Three letters: DVR
What did I do before you came into my life?
Watch commercials?
Miss my favorite programs?
Shave my legs?

Wait a minute. Disregard that last one. Not sure how it slipped in there.

Side note: Do they have DVR in Quebec? Someone, find out. Quick. And report back.

*Also, spoiler alert. If you have chosen to DVR the Bachelor finale and have not watched it yet, stop reading this post.

4) The Internet.
Now, I know this is a fairly broad item to have as a favorite thing. But man, what did we do when we didn't have instant information at our fingertips?
I'll tell you what we did: We called people on the phone.
Strangers, no less. And asked things like-- What are your hours? How much is a ticket? Where are you located?
Oh, the inconvenience. The forced socialization.
It must have been terrible.
I wouldn't know. I don't like calling people so I just don't do it.

Thank you Interworld.

And that concludes this episode of Things I Love.

Not to be confused with things I don't love, such as Jake choosing Vienna.
I'm just a touch flabbergasted. I'm really not even sure what to say.
Except that how on earth can a reality show that was taped weeks before this episode aired have me sitting on the edge of the couch with butterflies in my stomach waiting to see what color dress will peek out of the helicopter door first?

Oh, it must be my lack of a life.

I think I forgot to mention two more things I love:

Exhibit A:

And Exhibit D:

Even though they are the root cause of my lack of life, they are definitely two of my favorite thing.

I love DVR. I cannot live without it. I love the internet. It is splendid.

I don't have this GHD product.
I have heard about it by lots of people though.
I am back in the abs routine! Just thought you might find it in your heart to like me again.
I could not bring myself to lay on the hotel floor and do the exercises.
It was cold tile.
Me no likey.

Well, we only have internet here, so I don't know what I'm missing with the others. I'll take your word for it!

We get along so well because I understand the love you have for your favorite things!

GHD, hands down my BFF.

We have a sling box while we're over here in Korea. It's works just like we have the cable box and do all the recording. It's been nice. Real nice.

What's DVR? We have a VCR... ;)

I'm glad that I wasn't the only one waiting for the dress color. Even though it was already quite evident that Jake was thinking with his you-know-what. Ugh! The only thing keeping me interested in the pathetic show now is that ALI is the next Bachelorette! Now surely, SHE will do things right! ;)

Erin, or anybody, what does GHD mean? Help a frizzy sister out.

You are an awesome blogger. Every time I sit at the computer, which is more often than I care to admit, I check to see if you have a new entry. It's much better then waiting to see who the bachelor chose, who got voted off the island or for the answers to my many questions about lost!

The answer about DVR in Québec is yes, they have it. In most parts of Canada they call it a PVR, (Personal video recorder I think) I have no idea what they call it in Québec though. Peut-être un MP (pour magnétoscope personnel)

PS. Don't use my french as an example of how to speak because I am pretty sure my grammar and sentence structure are horrendous!

Sunk Costs Erin, (there are a lot of Erins on this here blog aren't there?)
GHD stands for Good Hair Day. It the brand name of the world's best flat iron. If you like to straighten your hair you should buy it.
Today.
But if I had curly hair, I would embrace it.

Mel, thanks for being my expert on all things Canadian! You're the only Canadian I've ever known, so I have the expectation that they will all be as nice as you! :)

Taylor,
Of course I'm not mad at you silly :) I want everyone in the world to have flabbier abs than me anyway ;)But good on you for getting back in the routine!
