Fat Tuesday

So I've been a terrible blogger lately.
Again.

It's kind of been a theme for most of the year.
Either my life is getting busier, or just more boring.

Probably both.

But today, I've got incentive to blog, as I'm linking up with Taylor's Fat Tuesday, in which we relay our weekly progress on our new healthy-eating plans.
Here's a recap on the ColorFUEL plan that I started last week.

And now, without further ado, I would like to tell you all that I have lost FIVE POUNDS this past week.

Of course, if I told you that I would be lying.
Because I did not actually lose 5 pounds.

There are two creatures I consider responsible for my lack of productivity:

Exhibit A:  Brooke Hadley

She's cute. She's sweet. She's loud.
And she's living in my house.

Exhibit B: Amelia Dollar

She's not cute. She's actually kind of ugly. But she's been cleaning the crumbs off my floors, so she can stay too.

As you can see, we have some house guests with us this week, and it is all their fault that I have not lost 5 pounds and developed a six pack of abdominal muscles.
Didn't you know that was my goal for the first week?

The truth is that Brooke and Amelia's parents have been cooking yummy food and sending Josh and I out on dinner dates in the evenings. And it's hard to follow the rules when you're at a restaurant.

I tried.
I ordered the grilled chicken pita one night.
I thought I would just remove half of the pita to decrease the carbs and calories.

But the pita was really, really good.
And so were the french fries that came with it.

So my first week was less successful than it might have been.
But I did lose 2 lbs and I've been figuring out how to make the plan work for me when I'm on the go, and just in general.
It requires a little advanced planning so I'm not obligated to make 2 different meals at dinner time, for instance. Most of the recipes have been pretty good, though I've come across one or two that I can just put a red X through right now.
Also, I've realized that lunches made primarily of caulifower and broccoli will lead to some...unpleasantness...under the bed sheets.
Sorry Josh.

So there you have it. Week one down. Some progress, some failures.
And house guests who cook and clean.

Not too shabby.

Tune in next week for my 10 POUND WEIGHT LOSS, SIX PACK, & a new prescriptions for Gas-X.
You have to set some goals, you know?
