Easter Morning

Hope you all had a nice Easter! After church we had lunch with friends and it was kind of like Thanksgiving-- a big meal followed by a food coma on the couches. Many naps were taken, and not just the kids! Here are some pictures of Easter morning...

Alex woke up to her Easter basket with goodies, books, bunny ears, etc. Then she hunted some eggs in the living room.

Daddy's been very busy at work recently but finally the inspection is over, yeah! Here's what we've been doing while Daddy was away.

Derek has been exercising his chubby thighs.

Dance parties with Alex on harmonica.

Hatching from an egg at the zoo.
And climbing into a giraffe's butt.
Next on the agenda is a visit from Grandma! Happy Easter everyone :)

Things Overheard at the Schore house

"Derry's eating Pablo!" -Alex (Pablo was a little wet, but he survived)
"Bbbblllppphhhh" - the sound of Derek blowing raspberries with a mouthful of carrots
"Yuck." - Mommy wiping carrots off her face
"Goodnight." - Daddy, at 6:30 pm. So ready for this inspection to be over!
"I bewy bewy hungwy"- Alex, all day long
"Waaaahhhh" - Derek last night at 12, 5:30, and 7 am. What's the deal?? You'd better be getting some teeth or something kid!
"I gave Derry his rattle! I made him so happy!" - Alex being a sweet big sister
"Thanks Alex, you are such a great sister." -me, in response
"No, I'm not a sister, I'm a cat." - Alex, who is never Alex anymore. She is a cat, teddy bear, dog, or one of a zillion other favorite characters.

I love my crazy little family :)

Easter Eggstravaganza

Josh took Alex to the base Easter party for the kids. If you ask her where Mommy and Derek were, she'll tell you that they were putting the baby in the shower. A baby shower is a confusing concept when you're two years old :)

Best Buds

Not sure it's appropriate to refer to Derek as Alex's LITTLE brother!

They even like the same show :) Alex still likes the "catapiwa show" aka Baby Einstein

Derek invited her over for a party in his crib.

But Alex didn't get the message that it was dress-casual, so she opted to get "neky" like Derek.

Swimming!

Daddy swam with Alex at the base pool. She had a great time! I wish we could do this more often, but I'm not quite ready to tackle swimming alone with 2 little ones. Sorry the quality's not great on this clip...I tried to adjust the camera settings to make the files smaller but might have gone a little too far with it.








I love this picture of Derek...I could just eat him up (and often do!)


This is Planet Kids...it's like a McDonald's play place on steroids. We took Alex a while back and she had a blast. Of course, she insisted that Daddy accompany her through a lot of it. She's a little wimpy! I couldn't get a shot with her in it since she was always either buried in balls or in a tunnel. But you can see Derek -- he's in the stroller taking a snooze :)
