Memaw's Visit

Daddy is back from his trip now, yeah! We had fun visiting with Memaw while he was away...




This is what we did the whole week--




Alex, Derek, & the kids. Poor little guy, Alex had "shared" her Dora so well that Dora's hair was Derek's first solid food.

Weigh In

We were at the doctor's office this week and threw both kiddos on the scale just to see what the latest weights are...
Alex, at 2 1/2 years, weighs 30lbs



Derek is still gaining like crazy and at 5 months is now up to 19lbs 7 oz (what Alex weighed at 1 year!). I'm going to have to get busy buying a new carseat for him, because he is just half a pound away from meeting the maximum weight for his infant carrier. But what am I going to do with him in the store until he can sit up on his own?? I'm thinking of putting him on a diet until then:) But could you withhold food from this sweet thing?



I put Alex in this dress to see if it fit; she pulled the matching bloomers out and thought they were a hat...



He looks like a little man when he wears real clothes (which doesn't happen too often...we don't have much for social agendas around here)

Miss you Daddy!

Here is a picture of me and Daddy before he left for his trip to Red Flag. I don't know what that is, but I go around singing "He's going on a trip in his favorite rocketship" because that's how the song to Little Einsteins starts, and he does fly a rocketship (sort of). Miss you Daddy!

While Daddy's away, I've been busy playing toys as a happy princess-girl.

And occasionally as a grumpy princess-girl.

Derek's been busy exercising in his exersaucer...holding up a head that big counts as exercise!

Memaw is coming for a visit tomorrow and Mommy is very happy to be getting an extra set of hands since I always have to go potty just when Derek is eating. Mommy says to hurry up Memaw!

Here is our sweet little man. He actually looks deceptively normal-sized in this picture, so let me include a more accurate snapshot of our lovable tank...
Ah, that's more like it...the kid who will send me to the chiropractor very soon. When you weigh 18 and a half pounds at 4 months you'd better be nice to your momma or she will stop picking you up!

Hi, my name is Alex and I can do it myself. So what if I look like Rambo? I don't nap, enjoy whining when I don't get my way, only go to the potty when it's my idea, and am borderline obsessive-compulsive. Any questions?

Here We Go

Alright, Alright...After much harassment (ahem, Jennifer) I have taken the plunge into Blog-dom. Now all the mundane aspects of our lives that bore even me will be available to all who wish to see. Hey, that rhymed. See, these are the kinds of things you're going to be subject to reading and you may wish that I had never started this! Well I'm off to find some pictures to post because we all know that nobody likes a post without pictures.
